Editorials

When something gets my interest, whether it’s something I’m against, for, or just have some strong feelings about, the only way I can really clear my head and get on with things is write about it. For a long time, that’s all I did. Write about it. Then I’d file it away on my hard drive and go on until something else poked me in the gut again.

Then one day, for no particular reason, I put it in an envelope and sent it in to a local paper. To my great surprise, they actually published it. So I started sending in the ones that I thought people might want to read, along with the ones I thought might prompt people to think about a particular issue. And, more often than not, they published those, too.

The following pages are  just a collection of the ones, published and unpublished, I’ve gotten onto paper along the way. I read them now and a lot of them sound pretty arrogant and self-righteous. I’m working on that. Sometimes they sound like something someone else wrote. Those are actually my favorites.

So read on, if you’re into such things. And if you don’t agree, well, that’s pretty much what America and the free press is all about. .
